"Medicine is a science of uncertainty and an art of probability." - Sir William Osler

Biography

Following my Bachelor’s of Science in Honours Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, I completed my medical school, residency training in Internal Medicine, and fellowship in Medical Biochemistry at McMaster University. After my fellowship, I moved to Vancouver to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at St. Paul's Hospital.

In addition to my laboratory practice, I continue to enjoy clinical work in Internal Medicine. I am also involved in the leadership of the PHC Clinical Informatics program as Co-Medical Director, and the Medicine, Older Adult and Palliative Care program as Physician Program Director.

I am particularly interested in helping both the clinical services and the laboratory increase efficiency by improving communication and achieving better mutual understanding. I am a strong advocate for appropriate test utilization and high-value care. When not in the hospital, I enjoy cycling, hiking, and exploring Vancouver's restaurant scene.
