2016 Hugh Curry Prize for Best Cytopathology Presentation

Congratulations to UBC Pathology Resident, Dr. Ema Todorovic who was awarded the 2016 Hugh Curry Prize for best cytopathology presentation at the Canadian Association of Pathologists Annual Meeting.

Working together with PHC pathologists Dr. Blair Walker and Dr. Nick Myles, Dr. Todorovic presented a poster titled “Diagnostic Accuracy of the Bethesda System for FNA Cytology Evaluation of Thyroid Nodules: Practical Application of Likelihood Ratios”.  Using likelihood ratios allows test results to be accurately compared across different prevalence settings, within the published literature, and within actual clinical practice.
